Information for Mentors

Copydesk Technical Procedures

It has been said that journalists are teachers at heart.

Every article, every photograph and every newscast prepared by professional journalists effectively result in teaching the public about events, issues and every aspect of human interaction.

The Youth Citizen Journalist Network offers professional journalists another way to practice their "teaching" skills.

Active and retired writers, editors, producers and anchors are invited to be mentors for the thousands of middle school and high school students who are contributors to YCJN.

For 2009 and 2010, YCJN is seeking volunteers from the the states illustrated by the flags in the left column. During the months leading up the 2012 Presidential election, we will seek volunteer journalists from all 50 states and U.S. territories.
